DAY 11 : Krka National Park and winery Visit (B,L)

Today, we depart the hotel and travel inland to Krka National Park, one of Croatia’s most beautiful natural landscapes.

On arrival, we enjoy a short boat cruise to Visovac Island, home to the Franciscan Monastery of Our Lady of Mercy and the Church of Our Lady of Visovac, both dating back to 1445. Set within tranquil grounds, the monastery has long been regarded as a place of peace and spiritual refuge. Throughout centuries of upheaval, Visovac remained a centre of faith and cultural preservation, playing an important role in Croatian history.

Inside the monastery, you’ll find a significant archaeological collection, historic church textiles and vessels, and a valuable library containing rare books and incunabula. At the heart of worship is the revered painting of the Virgin Mary. According to legend, the Franciscans brought the painting with them when fleeing Ottoman invasions and later found sanctuary on Visovac Island.

We then continue exploring Krka National Park, visiting the impressive Roški Slap waterfall. This series of cascades is often referred to locally as a “necklace,” formed by lush vegetation, stone pillars, and traditional watermills. Along the riverbanks, you’ll see restored mills and structures once used for wool production and fabric washing. These buildings are considered important ethnographic monuments, offering insight into rural life and traditional trade practices. The surrounding canyon landscape is especially striking, with rich vegetation where dry, sunlit areas meet cooler, shaded habitats.

In the afternoon, we travel to Plastovo Village to visit the Sladić Family Winery. Deeply committed to preserving local heritage, the family produces wines exclusively from indigenous grape varieties native to the Skradin region. Enjoy a guided wine tasting before continuing to Konoba Vinko for a truly authentic regional lunch.

After lunch, we return to Split.

It’s a lovely opportunity to reflect on our journey through Croatia and share a final evening together over good food and great company.

Overnight in Split.

DAY 13 : Departure from Split (B)

As your journey comes to an end, we arrange a smooth transfer from the hotel to Split Airport for your onward travel.
