Day 1 – Saturday 8 May 2027 – Welcome to Antigua, Guatemala

Welcome to the beginning of your incredible Central American adventure!

Upon arrival at La Aurora International Airport in Guatemala City, you will be warmly welcomed by our local representative before transferring to the beautiful colonial city of Antigua Guatemala, a UNESCO World Heritage Site nestled beneath three magnificent volcanoes. Enjoy the scenic drive as you take in your first glimpses of Guatemala’s colourful landscapes.

After checking into your beautiful boutique hotel, the remainder of the day is yours to relax after your journey. Wander the charming cobblestone streets, admire the beautifully preserved Spanish colonial architecture, browse the artisan boutiques, or simply unwind with a drink in one of the city’s picturesque plazas.

Day 2 – Sunday 9 May 2027 – Discover the Colonial Treasures of Antigua

After breakfast, set out to explore the enchanting city of Antigua, one of the best-preserved colonial cities in the Americas and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Surrounded by three magnificent volcanoes, Antigua is renowned for its colourful architecture, historic churches and charming cobblestone streets.

Your guided sightseeing tour includes many of the city’s most iconic landmarks, including the Cathedral Ruins, La Merced Church, the vibrant Central Park and the famous Santa Catalina Arch. You’ll also visit Cerro de la Cruz, where you’ll enjoy spectacular panoramic views over the city with Volcán de Agua rising dramatically in the background.

This afternoon, travel to the nearby village of San Juan del Obispo, where you’ll visit a traditional loquat plantation and sample locally produced wines, jams and artisan products. Day 3 – Monday 10 May 2027 – Flavours & Traditions of Guatemala

After breakfast, travel to the picturesque village of San Juan del Obispo, nestled on the slopes of Volcán de Agua. Rich in history and local tradition, this charming colonial village is renowned for its beautifully preserved church, artisan products and warm hospitality.

Enjoy a guided walk through the village before taking part in an authentic Guatemalan cooking class. Day 4 – Tuesday 11 May 2027 – Journey to Lake Atitlán

After breakfast, depart Antigua and journey through Guatemala’s spectacular highlands towards the breathtaking Lake Atitlán, often regarded as one of the most beautiful lakes in the world.

Along the way, stop in the colourful town of San Juan Comalapa, renowned for its vibrant murals, talented local artists and rich Mayan heritage. Browse local galleries, admire the impressive street art and gain an insight into the traditions and history of the Kaqchikel people before continuing your scenic drive to Lake Atitlán.

Upon arrival, visit the beautiful Atitlán Nature Reserve, where you’ll enjoy a guided walk through lush rainforest, crossing hanging bridges and passing waterfalls while taking in magnificent views over the lake and its surrounding volcanoes. Day 5 – Wednesday 12 May 2027 – Exploring the Villages of Lake Atitlán

After breakfast, board a private boat and cruise across the crystal-clear waters of the spectacular Lake Atitlán, surrounded by three towering volcanoes and traditional Mayan villages.

Your first stop is the charming village of San Juan La Laguna, where you’ll gain a fascinating insight into local Mayan life. Visit inspiring women’s weaving cooperatives, learn the traditional art of natural textile dyeing using plants and flowers, explore local art galleries, and discover the community’s use of medicinal plants and ancient healing traditions.

Continue by boat to Santiago Atitlán, the largest and most traditional village on the lake. Day 6 – Thursday 13 May 2027 – Chichicastenango Market & Journey to Flores

After breakfast, depart for the colourful highland town of Chichicastenango, home to one of the largest and most famous indigenous markets in Central America. Wander through the vibrant maze of market stalls filled with beautifully handcrafted textiles, ceramics, masks, fresh produce and traditional Mayan handicrafts. You’ll also visit the historic Church of Santo Tomás, where ancient Mayan spiritual traditions continue to blend with Catholic customs, creating one of Guatemala’s most fascinating cultural experiences.

Day 8 – Saturday 15 May 2027 – Tikal National Park

After breakfast, prepare to explore one of the most extraordinary archaeological sites in the world as you visit the magnificent Tikal National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site hidden deep within the lush Petén rainforest.

Once one of the greatest cities of the ancient Maya civilisation, Tikal is renowned for its soaring temples, grand ceremonial plazas and fascinating history. Day 10 – Monday 17 May 2027 – Journey to Tortuguero National Park

After an early breakfast, depart San José and travel through the spectacular Braulio Carrillo National Park, one of Costa Rica’s largest protected rainforests. Along the way, you’ll pass lush mountain scenery, banana and pineapple plantations before arriving at the river dock, where you’ll board a boat for a scenic journey through the winding canals of Tortuguero.

Often referred to as Costa Rica’s “Little Amazon,” Tortuguero National Park is one of the country’s most important wildlife sanctuaries and can only be reached by boat or small aircraft. Terms and Conditions of booking

Please take the time to read and understand the booking terms and conditions prior to booking a trip with us.

Deposits and Payment Schedule

To join any of our captivating Luxury Women’s Tours (LWT) itineraries, a per-person deposit, tailored to your selected trip, is required to confirm and secure your reservation.

The final balance payment must be settled 90 days before your journey begins. If you book within this 90-day window, the full amount becomes due at the time of booking.

In case of cancellation more than 90 days prior to the trip’s start, a full refund is granted, with deductions for non-refundable supplier deposits and non-refundable flight expenses.

For cancellations made between 90 and 60 days before the trip starts, your land component deposits become non-refundable, while all other payments are refunded, with non-refundable supplier or flight charges deducted.

Cancellations occurring 59 days or fewer before the trip starts result in all land tour component payments, including the deposit, being non-refundable.

All flights are subject to airline terms and conditions.

Pricing

Published trip prices include all applicable taxes and are based on shared occupancy. Solo travelers are thoughtfully matched with roommates to avoid additional single supplement fees. Single supplements are available with a surcharge, subject to availability.

Please note that LWT is not responsible for fees related to currency exchange or charges imposed by your credit card company or bank for foreign currency transactions.

All Flight Booking Conditions

Be aware that terms, conditions, and cancellation fees imposed by flight carriers are applicable in accordance with the airline’s policies.

Cancellation by the Client

In case a Client needs to cancel their reservation, we request written notification sent to jamie@luxurywomenstours.com.au.

Upon receiving written confirmation of cancellation from LWT, your reserved spot on the trip will be released, and rebooking availability is not guaranteed.

Refund terms for client-initiated cancellations are as follows:

  • Over 90 days before the trip’s start: Full refund, with deductions for non-refundable supplier deposits and non-refundable flight expenses.
  • Cancellation between 90 and 60 days before the trip’s start: Land component deposits become non-refundable, with all other payments refunded, minus non-refundable supplier or flight charges.
  • Cancellations 59 days or fewer before the trip’s start: All land tour component payments, including the deposit, are non-refundable.

Credits

Credits are valid for use within the original year of the trip or the following calendar year, with a total validity period of 24 months from the date of issuance.

These credits can be transferred to another woman, who assumes responsibility for any outstanding balance payments and directly reimburses you for the deposit. However, the replacement participant must meet trip registration requirements and receive approval from LWT.

You can also apply your credits toward the final balance of another trip, provided the request is made at least 90 days before the trip’s start date. Additionally, you have the flexibility to transfer your credits to any other trip or cancel and reapply your credits as many times as needed before the 90-day mark before the trip date, all within the original credit expiry date. Please note that all credits are issued in Australian Dollars (AUD).

Cancellation of a Tour by Luxury Women’s Tours

Our trips are confirmed to depart with a minimum group size booked. LWT reserves the right to cancel any trip for any reason, though cancellations less than 60 days before departure are rare, except for Force Majeure or unforeseen circumstances beyond LWT’s control.

If LWT cancels a tour before the agreed departure date for reasons other than Force Majeure or the fault of the Client, you have the following options:

  • Choose a substitute tour of equivalent or higher price, paying the difference.
  • Opt for a substitute tour of lower price, receiving the difference in price as a refund.
  • Receive a full refund of all monies paid under the contract.

LWT is not responsible for incidental expenses or consequential losses incurred by the Client, such as visa fees, vaccinations, non-refundable flights or rail tickets, non-refundable parking, loss of earnings, or loss of enjoyment.
