Day 1 – Arrival in Rome(D)

Welcome to Rome!

Upon arrival, you will be greeted by your driver who will assist with your luggage and transfer you to your centrally located hotel. After checking in and settling into your accommodations, take the remainder of the day to relax and acclimate to the city. Whether you choose to unwind in your room or explore the local surroundings at your leisure, this is your time to enjoy the start of your Italian adventure.

In the evening, join us for a delightful welcome dinner, where you’ll meet your fellow travelers and enjoy a delicious meal as we toast to the exciting journey ahead.

Day 2 – Rome · Assisi · Siena · Florence (B, L )

We depart Rome early this morning at 7:15 am by deluxe, air-conditioned coach, beginning our journey north through the Italian countryside.

Our first stop is Assisi, a beautifully preserved medieval town encircled by ancient stone walls and forever linked to the life of St Francis. Here, we visit the Basilica of St Francis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, renowned for its remarkable fresco cycles by Giotto and Cimabue, which mark a turning point in Western art history. There is time to wander the atmospheric streets before enjoying lunch in Assisi, soaking up the town’s timeless charm.

Continuing through the rolling landscapes of Tuscany, we arrive in Siena, another UNESCO-listed treasure. During our visit, we admire the famous Piazza del Campo, celebrated for its unique shell-shaped design and as the setting for the historic Palio horse race. Siena’s Gothic architecture and vibrant civic history offer a fascinating contrast to Assisi’s spiritual calm.

In the late afternoon, we travel onward through Tuscany’s picturesque countryside to Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance. Upon arrival, we check in to our hotel and settle in for the evening.

Day 3- Florence (B,L)

Today we explore Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance and one of Italy’s most celebrated cities.

Our guided walking tour begins in the historic centre, where we admire the city’s architectural and artistic masterpieces. We visit the magnificent Florence Cathedral (Duomo), with its iconic marble façade, alongside Brunelleschi’s Dome, Giotto’s Bell Tower, and the Baptistery of St John, famed for its bronze doors.

We continue through Piazza della Signoria, the city’s political heart, seeing Palazzo Vecchio and its impressive statues, before visiting the Basilica of Santa Croce, final resting place of great Italians such as Michelangelo and Galileo.

Lunch is enjoyed at a traditional Tuscan restaurant, where we sample regional flavours in a relaxed setting.

The afternoon is at leisure. You may choose to continue exploring Florence independently—perhaps browsing artisan boutiques, visiting a gallery, or enjoying a coffee in a lively piazza. Alternatively, an optional excursion to Pisa is available, offering the chance to see the iconic Leaning Tower and the Piazza dei Miracoli.

Dinner this evening is at leisure.

Day 4 – Florence · Bologna · Padua · Venice (B,L)

This morning we depart Florence and travel north toward Bologna, the vibrant capital of the Emilia-Romagna region and widely regarded as Italy’s culinary heart.

On arrival, we enjoy a guided walking tour through Bologna’s historic centre, famous for its elegant portico-lined streets, medieval towers, and lively atmosphere. Highlights include Piazza Maggiore, the city’s grand central square, and the impressive Basilica of San Petronio, one of the largest churches in Europe. Along the way, we discover Bologna’s rich academic heritage, home to the world’s oldest university.

We then enjoy a light local lunch and gastronomic experience, sampling regional specialities for which Bologna is justly famous, accompanied by one drink.

In the afternoon, we continue our journey east toward Venice. Upon arrival, we transfer to our hotel and check in.

The remainder of the evening is at leisure, offering time to relax or enjoy your first impressions of this extraordinary city built on water.

Day 5- Venice (B,L)

This morning we begin our exploration of Venice, one of the world’s most captivating cities.

Our guided walking tour starts in the iconic Piazza San Marco, often described as the world’s most beautiful square. We visit the magnificent Doge’s Palace, once the seat of Venetian power, where we learn about the city’s remarkable maritime history and political influence. From here, we pass by the evocative Bridge of Sighs, steeped in legend and intrigue.

Our tour concludes with a relaxed Venetian aperitif and cicchetti experience, enjoying traditional small bites paired with a classic spritz — a wonderful way to experience Venice like a local.

The remainder of the afternoon is at leisure. You may choose to wander the maze of canals and narrow streets, browse artisan shops, take a gondola ride, or simply sit by the water and soak up the atmosphere.

Day 6 – Venice · Tuscany Wine Region (Montepulciano) · Rome (B,L)

After breakfast, we depart Venice and journey south through the rolling landscapes of central Italy, returning to the heart of Tuscany.

Our destination is Montepulciano, a beautiful hilltop town renowned for its Renaissance architecture, panoramic countryside views, and its celebrated Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. Here, we enjoy time to stroll through the charming historic centre, with its elegant palazzi and atmospheric streets.

Lunch is a highlight today, enjoyed at a traditional local restaurant, featuring Tuscan specialities and accompanied by one glass of local wine, perfectly showcasing the flavours of the region. After lunch, there is some free time to explore Montepulciano at your own pace or simply relax and take in the views.

Later we travel back to Rome.

Day 7 – Rome (B)

This morning we explore the spiritual and artistic heart of Rome with a guided visit to the Vatican Museums, enjoying skip-the-line access to make the most of our time.

Accompanied by an expert guide, we discover some of the world’s most important art collections, including the Gallery of Tapestries, the Gallery of Maps, and the exquisite Raphael’s Rooms, showcasing masterpieces of Renaissance art. The highlight of the visit is the awe-inspiring Sistine Chapel, where Michelangelo’s ceiling and The Last Judgment leave a lasting impression.

Our tour concludes in St Peter’s Square, framed by Bernini’s magnificent colonnades.

The afternoon is at leisure. You may wish to continue exploring Rome independently, relax at a café, or join one of the optional excursions available.

Day 8: Rome – Colosseum & Roman Forum (B)

This morning we delve into the ancient heart of Rome with a guided half-day tour of some of the city’s most iconic archaeological landmarks.

With skip-the-line access, we step inside the mighty Colosseum, once the stage for gladiatorial contests and grand public spectacles. Accompanied by an expert English-speaking guide, we learn about the engineering marvels, social history, and dramatic events that once captivated ancient Roman audiences.

We then continue to the Roman Forum, the political, religious, and commercial centre of ancient Rome. Walking among the ruins of temples, basilicas, and triumphal arches, we gain insight into daily life in one of the greatest civilisations in history.

The remainder of the day is at leisure. You may choose to explore Rome’s neighbourhoods, visit additional landmarks, or relax with a coffee in one of the city’s lively piazzas.

Day 9 – Rome > Sorrento (B, D)

This morning we depart Rome, travelling south through the scenic regions of Lazio and Campania as we make our way toward the stunning coastline of southern Italy.

As we approach the Bay of Naples, the landscape transforms into dramatic coastal scenery, with sweeping views over the Mediterranean. By early afternoon, we arrive in Sorrento, beautifully positioned on cliffs overlooking the sea.

After checking in to our hotel, the remainder of the afternoon is at leisure. You may choose to relax at the hotel, stroll through Sorrento’s charming historic centre, browse local artisan shops, or enjoy a coffee overlooking the water.

Optional excursions are available for those wishing to explore further.

This evening, we come together for dinner at the hotel, enjoying regional cuisine and a relaxed introduction to life on the Amalfi Coast.

Day 10 – Sorrento · Capri · Sorrento (B,D)

After breakfast, we depart Sorrento for a full-day excursion to the glamorous island of Capri, long admired for its dramatic coastline, crystal-clear waters, and stylish atmosphere.

On arrival, and weather permitting, we visit the famous Blue Grotto, entering this remarkable sea cave by small rowboat to witness the magical blue light reflecting off the water — one of Italy’s most iconic natural sights.

We then enjoy time on the island to explore at leisure. You may choose to wander Capri’s elegant streets, browse high-end boutiques, enjoy lunch overlooking the sea, or simply soak up the island’s relaxed Mediterranean charm.

In the afternoon, we return by boat to Sorrento.

This evening, dinner is included at the hotel, where we can relax and reflect on a beautiful day along the coast.

Day 11 – Sorrento > Pompeii > Naples (Overnight Ferry)

After breakfast, we depart Sorrento and travel to one of the most extraordinary archaeological sites in the world, Pompeii.

With skip-the-line access and headsets provided, we enjoy a guided tour of the remarkably preserved ruins, frozen in time by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. Walking through ancient streets, villas, and public buildings, our expert guide brings daily life in Roman times vividly to life.

Following our visit, we continue to Naples and transfer to the port. Here, we board our overnight ferry to Palermo, marking our transition from mainland Italy to Sicily.

Accommodation is onboard the ferry. Please note that no meals are included during the overnight crossing and will need to be purchased onboard.

Day 12 – Palermo (B,D)

This morning we arrive in Palermo, the vibrant capital of Sicily, rich in history, culture, and layered architectural influences.

On arrival at the port, we are met and transferred to our hotel. After check-in, the remainder of the day is at leisure, allowing time to rest after the overnight ferry or begin exploring Palermo independently.

You may choose to wander the historic streets, visit local markets, or relax at the hotel and enjoy the slower pace of Sicilian life.

This evening, dinner is included at the hotel, providing a relaxed introduction to Sicilian cuisine.

Day 13 – Palermo > Monreale > Palermo (B,D)

After breakfast, we travel just outside Palermo to visit the magnificent Monreale Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the greatest Norman monuments in Europe.

Renowned for its extraordinary gold mosaics, the cathedral’s interior depicts intricate biblical scenes that shimmer in the light, while its architectural blend of Norman, Arab, and Byzantine influences reflects Sicily’s rich and complex history.

We then return to Palermo for a guided walking tour of the historic centre. Highlights include Palermo Cathedral and a selection of atmospheric Old Town streets and landmarks, offering insight into the city’s layered past and vibrant present.

The afternoon is at leisure. You may choose to continue exploring, visit local markets, or relax with a coffee or gelato in one of Palermo’s lively piazzas.

This evening, we reconvene for dinner at the hotel.

Day 14 – Palermo > Erice > Marsala > Agrigento(B,L,D)

After breakfast, we depart Palermo and journey west across Sicily’s varied landscapes.

Our first stop is Erice, a beautifully preserved medieval hill town perched high above the coastline. With its cobbled streets, stone houses, and sweeping views across the sea and countryside, Erice feels wonderfully timeless. There is time to stroll through the village and soak up its unique atmosphere.

We then continue to Marsala, famous for its historic fortified wines. Here, we visit a traditional winery, where we enjoy a light lunch and wine tasting, sampling local varietals while learning about the region’s long-standing winemaking traditions.

In the afternoon, we travel onward to Agrigento, home to one of the most important archaeological sites in the Mediterranean. We visit the remarkable Valley of the Temples, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring exceptionally preserved ancient Greek temples. Highlights include the Temple of Concordia, as well as the ruins dedicated to Hercules and Jupiter, set against a dramatic landscape.

Following our visit, we check in to our hotel.

Day 15 – Agrigento · Ragusa Ibla · Ragusa (B,D)

After breakfast, we depart Agrigento and travel southeast through the Sicilian countryside toward the Baroque heart of the island.

Our destination is Ragusa Ibla, the historic lower town of Ragusa and one of Sicily’s most enchanting districts. Here, we explore its atmospheric streets and discover outstanding examples of Sicilian Baroque architecture. Highlights include the magnificent Cathedral of San Giorgio, with its grand staircase and ornate façade, as well as the elegant Cosentini Palace.

After our visit, we continue to Ragusa and check in to our hotel.

The remainder of the afternoon is at leisure, offering time to relax or further explore Ragusa at your own pace.

Day 16 – Ragusa · Noto · Siracusa · Taormina (B)

After breakfast, we depart Ragusa and continue our journey through southeastern Sicily, a region renowned for its elegant Baroque towns and ancient history.

Our first stop is Noto, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the finest examples of Sicilian Baroque architecture. Here, we admire the harmonious streetscape and visit the beautifully restored Noto Cathedral, a symbol of the town’s architectural rebirth.

We then travel on to Syracuse, one of the most historically significant cities of the ancient Mediterranean. Our visit focuses on Ortygia Island, the atmospheric old town, where we explore a captivating mix of churches, palaces, and narrow lanes framed by the sea. Highlights include views of the cathedral square and the elegant waterfront promenades.

In the late afternoon, we continue along the Ionian coast to Taormina, one of Sicily’s most beautiful and stylish towns. On arrival, we check in to our centrally located hotel..

Day 17 – Taormina (B, D)

After breakfast, we depart Taormina for an excursion to one of Europe’s most dramatic natural landmarks, Mount Etna, the continent’s largest active volcano.

Travelling through changing landscapes shaped by ancient lava flows, we ascend the slopes of Mount Etna. Weather permitting, we reach approximately 1,800 metres, where there is time to explore the unique volcanic terrain and enjoy panoramic views across the surrounding countryside and coastline.

After our visit, we return to Taormina in the early afternoon. The remainder of the day is at leisure, offering time to further explore this charming town, browse boutique shops, visit the Greek Theatre, or simply relax and enjoy the spectacular coastal scenery.

Day 18- Taormina Departures

After breakfast, our journey comes to an end. We check out of our hotel in Taormina and transfer to Catania Airport for onward flights.

Deposits and Payment Schedule

To join any of our captivating Luxury Women’s Tours (LWT) itineraries, a per-person deposit, tailored to your selected trip, is required to confirm and secure your reservation.

The final balance payment must be settled 90 days before your journey begins. If you book within this 90-day window, the full amount becomes due at the time of booking.

In case of cancellation more than 90 days prior to the trip’s start, a full refund is granted, with deductions for non-refundable supplier deposits and non-refundable flight expenses.

For cancellations made between 90 and 60 days before the trip starts, your land component deposits become non-refundable, while all other payments are refunded, with non-refundable supplier or flight charges deducted.

Cancellations occurring 59 days or fewer before the trip starts result in all land tour component payments, including the deposit, being non-refundable.

All flights are subject to airline terms and conditions.

Pricing

Published trip prices include all applicable taxes and are based on shared occupancy. Solo travelers are thoughtfully matched with roommates to avoid additional single supplement fees. Single supplements are available with a surcharge, subject to availability.

Please note that LWT is not responsible for fees related to currency exchange or charges imposed by your credit card company or bank for foreign currency transactions.

Be aware that terms, conditions, and cancellation fees imposed by flight carriers are applicable in accordance with the airline’s policies.

Cancellation by the Client

In case a Client needs to cancel their reservation, we request written notification sent to jamie@luxurywomenstours.com.au.

Upon receiving written confirmation of cancellation from LWT, your reserved spot on the trip will be released, and rebooking availability is not guaranteed.

Refund terms for client-initiated cancellations are as follows:

  • Over 90 days before the trip’s start: Full refund, with deductions for non-refundable supplier deposits and non-refundable flight expenses.
  • Cancellation between 90 and 60 days before the trip’s start: Land component deposits become non-refundable, with all other payments refunded, minus non-refundable supplier or flight charges.
  • Cancellations occurring 59 days or fewer before the trip starts result in all land tour component payments, including the deposit, being non-refundable.
  • All flights are subject to airline terms and conditions.

Credits

Credits are valid for use within the original year of the trip or the following calendar year, with a total validity period of 24 months from the date of issuance.

These credits can be transferred to another woman, who assumes responsibility for any outstanding balance payments and directly reimburses you for the deposit. However, the replacement participant must meet trip registration requirements and receive approval from LWT.

You can also apply your credits toward the final balance of another trip, provided the request is made at least 90 days before the trip’s start date. Additionally, you have the flexibility to transfer your credits to any other trip or cancel and reapply your credits as many times as needed before the 90-day mark before the trip date, all within the original credit expiry date. Please note that all credits are issued in Australian Dollars (AUD).

Cancellation of a Tour by Luxury Women’s Tours

Our trips are confirmed to depart with a minimum group size booked. LWT reserves the right to cancel any trip for any reason, though cancellations less than 60 days before departure are rare, except for Force Majeure or unforeseen circumstances beyond LWT’s control.

If LWT cancels a tour before the agreed departure date for reasons other than Force Majeure or the fault of the Client, you have the following options:

  • Choose a substitute tour of equivalent or higher price, paying the difference.
  • Opt for a substitute tour of lower price, receiving the difference in price as a refund.
  • Receive a full refund of all monies paid under the contract.

LWT is not responsible for incidental expenses or consequential losses incurred by the Client, such as visa fees, vaccinations, non-refundable flights or rail tickets, non-refundable parking, loss of earnings, or loss of enjoyment.
