Day 1 – Monday 10 May 2027 – Welcome to Beijing (D)

Welcome to China. Upon arrival at Beijing International Airport, we will be met by our local guide and transferred to our hotel in the city. The drive takes around one hour, offering our first glimpse of Beijing as we make our way into this fascinating capital.

Once we arrive, there will be time to settle in, freshen up, and relax after the journey before the adventure begins.

This evening, we come together for our welcome dinner, where we will enjoy one of Beijing’s most famous culinary experiences – traditional Peking Duck. It is the perfect way to begin our journey, and a lovely opportunity to meet the group.

Day 2 – Tuesday 11 May 2027 – Imperial Beijing (B)

Today we explore the heart of Beijing, where centuries of history and culture come to life.

We begin at Tiananmen Square, the symbolic centre of China and one of the largest public squares in the world. From here, we enter the magnificent Forbidden City, once home to emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. As we walk through its grand courtyards, halls, and palaces, we gain insight into nearly 500 years of imperial life.

After exploring the Forbidden City, we visit Jingshan Park. For those who wish, a gentle climb to the top rewards us with sweeping panoramic views over the golden rooftops of the Forbidden City and the old city beyond. Those who prefer can enjoy a more relaxed stroll through the gardens below.

We then visit a traditional courtyard residence (Siheyuan), where we pause for a Chinese-style afternoon tea with local snacks—an intimate glimpse into historic Beijing life.

After a full day of exploration, we return to our hotel for the evening at leisure.

Day 3 – Wednesday 12 May 2027 – Hutongs & Local Life (B)

This morning, we explore one of Beijing’s most traditional and charming neighbourhoods—the historic Hutongs.

We travel by rickshaw through these narrow alleyways, offering a glimpse into old Beijing and a way of life that has remained largely unchanged for generations. Along the way, we visit a local family home, where we are welcomed in for a hands-on dumpling making experience. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with local culture and learn a traditional skill, before enjoying what we’ve created.

Afterward, we take a gentle stroll through the surrounding neighbourhood before continuing to Beihai Park, one of Beijing’s most beautiful imperial gardens. Here, we can enjoy peaceful lakeside views, traditional architecture, and a relaxed atmosphere away from the busy city.

Following our visit, we return to the hotel, with the remainder of the afternoon at leisure.

Day 4 – Thursday 13 May 2027 – Great Wall & Summer Palace (B, L)

Today we visit one of the world’s most iconic landmarks—the Great Wall of China.

Travelling out of the city, we arrive at a quieter and more scenic section of the wall, where we can take our time to walk along this incredible structure and take in the surrounding landscapes. There is the option to hike for several hours, or simply explore at a comfortable pace while enjoying the views and atmosphere.

After time at the Great Wall, we return toward Beijing, stopping along the way to visit the beautiful Summer Palace. This stunning imperial retreat is known for its harmonious gardens, pavilions, and the tranquil waters of Kunming Lake. If conditions allow, we may enjoy a relaxing boat ride on the lake.

After a full day of exploration, we return to the hotel for a well-earned rest.

Day 5 – Friday 14 May 2027 – Beijing to Xi’an by High-Speed Train (B)

This morning, we experience a different side of local life with a visit to a bustling market near the Temple of Heaven. Here, locals shop for fresh produce and everyday ingredients, offering a fascinating glimpse into daily life in Beijing.

We then visit the Temple of Heaven, one of China’s most significant imperial sites, where emperors once prayed for good harvests. As we explore the surrounding park, we may see locals practicing tai chi, dancing, or playing traditional instruments—bringing the space to life with community and culture.

Later, we transfer to the railway station to board our high-speed train to Xi’an. A light picnic-style meal will be provided for the journey, making for a comfortable and relaxed travel experience.

Upon arrival in Xi’an, we are met by our local guide and transferred to our hotel. The remainder of the evening is at leisure to relax or explore nearby.

Day 6 – Saturday 15 May 2027 – Terracotta Warriors & Cultural Experiences (B, L)

Today we discover one of the most remarkable archaeological sites in the world—the Terracotta Warriors.

We travel out of Xi’an to explore this extraordinary collection of life-sized soldiers, horses, and chariots, created over 2,000 years ago to guard China’s first emperor. As we walk through the vast excavation pits, we gain a deeper understanding of the history, craftsmanship, and significance of this incredible site.

After our visit, we enjoy a traditional tea ceremony and have the opportunity to dress in Tang Dynasty costumes, offering a fun and immersive way to connect with China’s rich cultural heritage.

In the afternoon, we return to the city and explore the vibrant Muslim Quarter. This lively area is filled with street food, local delicacies, and market stalls, providing a wonderful glimpse into Xi’an’s diverse culture and daily life.

After a full day, we return to our hotel.

Day 7 – Sunday 16 May 2027 – Xi’an to Chengdu (B)

This morning, we visit the impressive Ancient City Wall of Xi’an, one of the best-preserved city walls in China. We can enjoy a relaxed walk along the top, taking in views over both the historic and modern parts of the city, or simply soak up the atmosphere at our own pace.

After our visit, we transfer to the railway station to board our high-speed train to Chengdu. A light picnic-style meal will be provided for the journey.

Upon arrival in Chengdu, we are met by our local guide and transferred to our hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure to relax and settle in before continuing our journey.

Day 8 – Monday 17 May 2027 – Pandas & Sichuan Flavours (B, L)

Today we visit one of China’s most loved highlights—the Giant Panda Breeding Research Base.

Arriving early, we have the best chance to see the pandas at their most active, as they play, climb, and feed on bamboo. It’s a special experience to observe these iconic animals up close in a natural setting, and if we’re lucky, we may even see young panda cubs.

At lunchtime, we enjoy a traditional Sichuan hot pot experience. This interactive meal allows us to cook a variety of fresh ingredients in a bubbling, flavourful broth—an essential part of Chengdu’s food culture.

In the afternoon, we visit Wenshu Temple, one of the city’s most important Buddhist temples, known for its peaceful atmosphere and beautiful architecture. We then continue to Jinli Old Street, a lively area filled with local snacks, traditional crafts, and colourful street life.

After a full day, we return to our hotel.

Day 9 – Tuesday 18 May 2027 – Chengdu to Zhangjiajie (B)

This morning, we transfer to the railway station to board our high-speed train to Zhangjiajie. Porter service will be arranged, making the journey smooth and comfortable.

Sit back and enjoy the changing scenery as we travel through the countryside, arriving in the spectacular region of Zhangjiajie—home to some of China’s most dramatic natural landscapes.

Upon arrival, we are met by our local guide and transferred to our hotel in the Wulingyuan Scenic Area. The remainder of the day is at leisure to relax and take in the peaceful surroundings before our exploration begins.

Day 10 – Wednesday 19 May 2027 – Zhangjiajie National Park & Avatar Mountains (B, L)

Today we explore one of China’s most breathtaking natural wonders—Zhangjiajie National Park.

Using a combination of scenic elevators, cable cars, and shuttle buses, we journey deep into the park to discover its towering sandstone pillars, famously known as the Avatar Mountains. These dramatic landscapes rise through mist and forest, creating one of the most unique and unforgettable settings in China.

With our guide, we explore a variety of viewpoints, taking in panoramic scenery and capturing incredible photos along the way. The day is designed to balance exploration with comfort, making the most of the park’s efficient transport system.

After a full day immersed in nature, we return to our hotel to relax.

Day 11 – Thursday 20 May 2027 – Golden Whip Stream & Baofeng Lake (B, L)

This morning, we enjoy a scenic walk along Golden Whip Stream, one of the most beautiful areas within Zhangjiajie National Park. Surrounded by towering cliffs, lush forest, and flowing water, this gentle walk offers a different perspective of the region’s stunning landscapes.

In the afternoon, we visit Baofeng Lake, known for its crystal-clear waters and dramatic surroundings. Here, we take a relaxing boat cruise, gliding across the lake as we take in the peaceful atmosphere and striking natural scenery.

After a day immersed in nature, we return to our hotel for the evening.

Day 12 – Friday 21 May 2027 – Tianmen Mountain & Fly to Shanghai (B, L)

Today we experience one of the most dramatic highlights of the journey—Tianmen Mountain.

We take a scenic cable car ride up the mountain, one of the longest in the world, offering incredible views as we ascend above the landscape. At the top, we explore the famous glass walkways and take in the breathtaking scenery of this remarkable natural site.

We also visit the iconic “Heaven’s Gate,” a natural rock arch set high within the mountain, creating one of China’s most unique and memorable sights.

After our visit, we transfer to the airport for our flight to Shanghai.

Upon arrival, we are met by our local guide and transferred to our hotel. The remainder of the evening is at leisure.

Day 13 – Saturday 22 May 2027 – Shanghai at Leisure (B)

Today is a free day to enjoy Shanghai at your own pace.

You may choose to explore more of this vibrant city, from its stylish boutiques and cafés to its historic neighbourhoods and bustling markets. Perhaps take a walk along the Bund, visit one of the city’s many museums, or simply relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

Your guide will be happy to offer suggestions for optional activities, dining, or sightseeing if you wish to make the most of your day.

Day 14 – Sunday 23 May 2027 – Shanghai Highlights & Dumpling Making (B, L)

Today we explore the highlights of Shanghai, a city where tradition and modern life blend seamlessly.

We begin with a visit to the beautiful Yu Garden, a classic example of traditional Chinese garden design, with its elegant pavilions, winding pathways, and tranquil ponds. We then stroll along the iconic Bund, where historic colonial buildings line the river opposite Shanghai’s modern skyline.

Continuing into the former French Concession, we wander through charming streets filled with cafés, boutiques, and galleries, offering a glimpse into the city’s cosmopolitan character.

At lunchtime, we enjoy a hands-on culinary experience, learning how to make traditional dumplings and wontons before enjoying our creations alongside local dishes.

After a full day of exploration, we return to our hotel.

Day 15 – Monday 24 May 2027 – Zhujiajiao Water Town & Farewell Dinner (B, L)

Today we venture just outside Shanghai to visit Zhujiajiao, a charming water town with over 1,000 years of history.

We explore its narrow lanes, stone bridges, and peaceful canals, gaining a glimpse into traditional life in this beautifully preserved riverside setting. There will be time to wander through local markets, take in the scenery, and enjoy the relaxed pace of the town.

We also experience the town by rickshaw, offering a unique perspective as we pass through its historic streets and waterways.

Later, we return to Shanghai for our final evening together. We gather for a farewell dinner at a rooftop venue overlooking the city skyline—a wonderful way to reflect on our journey and celebrate the experiences we’ve shared.

Day 16 – Tuesday 25 May 2027 – Departure Shanghai (B)

Today our journey comes to an end.

As we say goodbye, we leave with a deeper understanding of China’s rich culture, history, and landscapes after an incredible journey across this vast and fascinating country.

Deposits and Payment Schedule

To join any of our captivating Luxury Women’s Tours (LWT) itineraries, a per-person deposit, tailored to your selected trip, is required to confirm and secure your reservation.

The final balance payment must be settled 90 days before your journey begins. If you book within this 90-day window, the full amount becomes due at the time of booking.

In case of cancellation more than 90 days prior to the trip’s start, a full refund is granted, with deductions for non-refundable supplier deposits and non-refundable flight expenses.

For cancellations made between 90 and 60 days before the trip starts, your land component deposits become non-refundable, while all other payments are refunded, with non-refundable supplier or flight charges deducted.

Cancellations occurring 59 days or fewer before the trip starts result in all land tour component payments, including the deposit, being non-refundable.

All flights are subject to airline terms and conditions.

Pricing

Published trip prices include all applicable taxes and are based on shared occupancy. Solo travelers are thoughtfully matched with roommates to avoid additional single supplement fees. Single supplements are available with a surcharge, subject to availability.

Please note that LWT is not responsible for fees related to currency exchange or charges imposed by your credit card company or bank for foreign currency transactions.

All Flight Booking Conditions

Be aware that terms, conditions, and cancellation fees imposed by flight carriers are applicable in accordance with the airline’s policies.

Cancellation by the Client

In case a Client needs to cancel their reservation, we request written notification sent to jamie@luxurywomenstours.com.au.

Upon receiving written confirmation of cancellation from LWT, your reserved spot on the trip will be released, and rebooking availability is not guaranteed.

Refund terms for client-initiated cancellations are as follows:

  • Over 90 days before the trip’s start: Full refund, with deductions for non-refundable supplier deposits and non-refundable flight expenses.
  • Cancellation between 90 and 60 days before the trip’s start: Land component deposits become non-refundable, with all other payments refunded, minus non-refundable supplier or flight charges.
  • Cancellations occurring 59 days or fewer before the trip starts result in all land tour component payments, including the deposit, being non-refundable.
  • All flights are subject to airline terms and conditions.

Credits

Credits are valid for use within the original year of the trip or the following calendar year, with a total validity period of 24 months from the date of issuance.

These credits can be transferred to another woman, who assumes responsibility for any outstanding balance payments and directly reimburses you for the deposit. However, the replacement participant must meet trip registration requirements and receive approval from LWT.

You can also apply your credits toward the final balance of another trip, provided the request is made at least 90 days before the trip’s start date. Additionally, you have the flexibility to transfer your credits to any other trip or cancel and reapply your credits as many times as needed before the 90-day mark before the trip date, all within the original credit expiry date. Please note that all credits are issued in Australian Dollars (AUD).

Cancellation of a Tour by Luxury Women’s Tours

Our trips are confirmed to depart with a minimum group size booked. LWT reserves the right to cancel any trip for any reason, though cancellations less than 60 days before departure are rare, except for Force Majeure or unforeseen circumstances beyond LWT’s control.

If LWT cancels a tour before the agreed departure date for reasons other than Force Majeure or the fault of the Client, you have the following options:

  • Choose a substitute tour of equivalent or higher price, paying the difference.
  • Opt for a substitute tour of lower price, receiving the difference in price as a refund.
  • Receive a full refund of all monies paid under the contract.

LWT is not responsible for incidental expenses or consequential losses incurred by the Client, such as visa fees, vaccinations, non-refundable flights or rail tickets, non-refundable parking, loss of earnings, or loss of enjoyment.
