After arriving in the vibrant capital of Nepal, Kathmandu, you’ll be warmly greeted by our local representative and transferred in comfort to your luxury accommodation.

After breakfast, we begin our journey to the tranquil hillside village of Nagarkot, making time along the way to explore two of Nepal’s most treasured UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Our first stop is the ancient city of Bhaktapur, a living museum of Newari culture and craftsmanship. Once the capital of Nepal from the 12th to 15th century, Bhaktapur is a maze of brick-paved alleys, intricately carved wooden temples, open courtyards, and towering pagodas. You’ll wander through Durbar Square, admire centuries-old stone sculptures, and gain insight into the city’s rich spiritual and artistic traditions. The city is also home to the National Art Gallery, which houses rare thangkas, antique manuscripts, and religious relics. A vibrant expression of Nepalese heritage, Bhaktapur continues to thrive as a cultural hub, supported by preservation efforts funded through sustainable tourism.
We then continue to Changunarayan Temple, one of the oldest Hindu temples still in use in Nepal. Perched on a wooded hilltop surrounded by Champak trees, this sacred site is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and features masterful stone and wood carvings dating back to the Licchavi era. As you explore its courtyards and admire the intricate doorways and guardian statues, you’ll gain a deeper appreciation for the enduring legacy of Nepalese architecture and spirituality.
In the afternoon, we ascend to Nagarkot, a peaceful mountain retreat perched at 2,300 metres above sea level. On arrival, enjoy free time to relax and take in the crisp mountain air. On a clear day, you may catch your first breathtaking views of the Himalayan range—including the iconic silhouette of Mt. Everest—as the sun begins to set.

Rise early this morning to witness a truly breathtaking spectacle—the sunrise over the Himalayas. From Nagarkot’s elevated vantage point, the snow-capped peaks, including Langtang and even Mt. Everest on a clear day, are bathed in soft morning light. For those keen, a short walk through the village offers a peaceful opportunity to take in local life and sweeping valley views.
After breakfast, we return to Kathmandu for a day of discovery steeped in history and architecture.
Our first stop is Patan Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a masterpiece of Newari architecture. Once the royal palace of the kings of Patan, the square is a captivating ensemble of intricately carved temples, pagodas, and courtyards. Explore Keshav Narayan Chowk, now home to a bronze artifact museum, and Sundari Chowk, with its famed sunken Tusha Hiti bath and elaborate woodcarvings. You’ll also visit the iconic Krishna Temple, an exquisite 17th-century structure made entirely of stone—Nepal’s first example of Shikhara-style architecture.
We then continue to the majestic Swoyambhunath Stupa, one of the oldest and most revered Buddhist monuments in the country. Perched atop a hill overlooking the Kathmandu Valley, this gleaming white stupa, also known as the “Monkey Temple,” is adorned with prayer flags, spinning wheels, and the watchful eyes of the Buddha. Its origins date back over 2,000 years, making it a site of immense spiritual and cultural significance.
After an enriching day of exploration, we return to the hotel for a restful evening.

After breakfast, we transfer to Kathmandu’s domestic airport for a short scenic flight to Pokhara—Nepal’s second largest city and a gateway to the Annapurna region. Nestled beside a tranquil lake and surrounded by soaring peaks, Pokhara is renowned for its natural beauty and relaxed charm.
Upon arrival, we transfer to your hotel and check in. After some time to freshen up, we’ll enjoy a serene boating experience on Fewa Lake, the shimmering jewel of Pokhara. Float across its peaceful waters and take in the reflection of Machapuchare—the sacred “Fishtail” mountain—on the surface. You may even spot the iconic Tal Barahi Temple, set on an island in the middle of the lake.
The evening is free for you to explore at your leisure. Stroll along the lively lakeside promenade, visit local shops, or simply relax and take in the mountain views.

We begin our day with an early morning drive to Sarangkot, a hilltop viewpoint situated at 1,600 metres above sea level and famous for its spectacular sunrise views. As the sun rises over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, you’ll witness the snow-capped peaks glowing in golden light—a moment of true natural beauty. After soaking in the views, we return to the hotel for breakfast.
Later in the morning, enjoy a peaceful one-hour boat ride on Lake Fewa, where the serene waters mirror the majestic mountains and offer a chance to unwind in the heart of nature.
Our afternoon brings a half-day guided tour of Pokhara’s cultural and natural highlights. Visit the sacred Bindabasini Temple, one of the oldest in the city, followed by a descent into the mystical Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave. We’ll also stop at the Seti Gorge, carved by the milky white Seti River, and witness the power of Davis Falls, where the river plunges into an underground tunnel.
Next, we explore the old town of Pokhara and visit the Tibetan Refugee Camp, where you can learn about the local Tibetan community’s crafts and culture. From there, we continue to the hilltop Shanti Stupa, or Peace Pagoda, perched at 1,100 metres on Anadu Hill. Built by Nipponzan Myohoji monks as a symbol of world peace, the stupa also offers breathtaking panoramic views of the lake and mountain ranges.
Pokhara is not only famed for its beauty—it also lies within 30 aerial miles of three of the world’s highest mountains: Annapurna I, Dhaulagiri, and Manaslu. The city is also a launching point for treks into the Annapurna region and offers a unique blend of serenity and adventure.
After the sightseeing, enjoy free time to wander the lakeside promenade, brimming with inviting cafes, boutiques, and local markets.

This morning after breakfast, we transfer to Pokhara Airport for a short scenic flight to Chitwan, located in the subtropical lowlands of southern Nepal. Upon arrival, we’ll drive to our luxurious jungle retreat, where the untamed beauty of Chitwan National Park awaits.
Recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Chitwan is one of Asia’s premier wildlife destinations, home to the rare one-horned rhinoceros, Bengal tigers, wild elephants, sloth bears, gharials, and over 500 species of birds. This lush haven offers a chance to connect with nature in an immersive and unforgettable way.
After check-in and some time to relax, we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch at the lodge. This morning, we bid farewell to Nepal and board our flight to Paro, Bhutan—a spectacular journey with panoramic views of the Himalayan range, including Mount Everest on a clear day.
Upon arrival in Paro, you’ll be warmly welcomed by your Bhutanese guide and begin the scenic drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s tranquil capital nestled in a pristine valley.
En route, enjoy a photo stop at the charming Tachogang Lhakhang, a 14th-century temple founded by the legendary iron bridge builder, Thangtong Gyalpo. This picturesque temple, perched beside a traditional iron chain bridge, offers a glimpse into Bhutan’s medieval spiritual heritage.
On arrival in Thimphu, we’ll visit Buddha Dordenma (Buddha Point)—a towering 51-metre golden statue of Shakyamuni Buddha that overlooks the city. One of the largest seated Buddha statues in the world, it houses over 100,000 smaller Buddhas within.
Continue to the Memorial Chorten, a revered white stupa built in memory of Bhutan’s third king. This deeply spiritual site is a hive of activity, where locals come to chant, spin prayer wheels, and offer daily devotion.

After breakfast, we set out to explore the cultural heart of Thimphu, a city where ancient tradition and modern development exist side by side in harmony.
Our first stop is the Folk Heritage Museum, a beautifully preserved traditional Bhutanese farmhouse offering a window into rural life. The museum showcases age-old tools, household items, and agricultural artifacts, providing insight into Bhutan’s agrarian roots and enduring customs.
Next, we visit the Textile Museum, where you’ll gain a deep appreciation for Bhutan’s rich tradition of weaving. From intricate handwoven garments to royal attire, the exhibits here highlight the artistry and symbolism behind Bhutanese textiles, an integral part of the nation’s cultural identity.
We then continue to a paper-making factory, where you’ll see how Bhutanese artisans produce traditional handmade paper using the bark of the Daphne plant. Watch the process from raw material to finished product and perhaps pick up some beautiful stationery or souvenirs.
After lunch, we visit Pangri Zampa Monastery, a serene and historic temple complex that also houses a school of astrology. This 16th-century site is known for its peaceful setting and towering cypress trees, offering a moment of calm and reflection.
Our final visit today is to Tashichho Dzong, the majestic fortress-monastery that houses the offices of the King and key government ministries. With its whitewashed walls, golden towers, and manicured gardens, this grand structure is a striking example of traditional Bhutanese architecture and national pride.

After breakfast, we depart Thimphu and journey eastward through the ever-changing landscapes of Bhutan, bound for the serene Phobjikha Valley and the village of Gangtey.
Our drive takes us over the Dochula Pass (3,100 metres), one of the most scenic points on the journey. On a clear day, you’ll be treated to panoramic views of the eastern Himalayas, framed by the 108 memorial chortens that dot the ridge. It’s a truly awe-inspiring stop, ideal for photographs and quiet contemplation.
Along the way, we’ll make a special stop at ancient meditation caves, where generations of monks have sought solitude and spiritual insight. These sacred spaces are imbued with a stillness that speaks to Bhutan’s deeply rooted Buddhist traditions.
Upon arriving in the glacial valley of Phobjikha, we visit Gangtey Goemba, a 17th-century monastery perched on a hilltop overlooking the valley. This important religious site is not only a spiritual centre for locals but also offers a commanding view of the surrounding wetlands and mountains.
We’ll also explore the Black-Necked Crane Centre, dedicated to the protection and education surrounding these rare and graceful migratory birds. The cranes, which arrive from Tibet each winter, are revered in Bhutanese culture and considered symbols of longevity and peace.
By late afternoon, we arrive at the award-winning Gangtey Lodge, where luxury meets tradition. Set within a traditional farmhouse, this boutique retreat offers rustic elegance and sweeping views of the valley—perfect for unwinding after a day of exploration.

We then journey toward Punakha, the former capital of Bhutan and one of the most picturesque valleys in the country. En route, we stop to explore the Chimi Lhakhang, also known as the Temple of Fertility. Reached via a short scenic hike through local farming villages and rice paddies, this revered temple is dedicated to Drukpa Kunley—the “Divine Madman”—a Buddhist saint known for his unconventional teachings. The walk offers a chance to observe rural Bhutanese life up close.
We enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, sampling traditional Bhutanese cuisine prepared with local ingredients, before continuing our scenic drive through the lush Punakha Valley.

Later in the morning, we visit the majestic Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s most iconic landmarks. Nestled at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers, this fortress-monastery is a masterpiece of Bhutanese architecture with its whitewashed walls, intricately carved woodwork, and serene courtyards. Historically significant, it once served as the seat of government and continues to host important royal and religious ceremonies.

In the afternoon, take a walk across the Pho Chhu Suspension Bridge, one of the longest in Bhutan. Stretching gracefully over the river with prayer flags fluttering in the wind, it offers stunning photo opportunities and a bit of light adventure.
We end the day with a tranquil visit to Sangchhen Dorji Lhuendrup Nunnery, set on a hilltop with sweeping views of the Punakha Valley. Here, you may witness evening prayers, a deeply moving experience as the resident nuns chant sacred mantras and light butter lamps in quiet devotion.

After breakfast, we bid farewell to the Punakha Valley and embark on a scenic drive to Paro, a journey of approximately 4.5 hours through forested hills, winding rivers, and charming villages. Along the way, take in sweeping mountain views and glimpses of rural life in the Bhutanese countryside.
Upon arrival in Paro, we check in to the elegant Le Méridien Paro, where you’ll enjoy a blend of contemporary luxury and serene riverside surroundings.
In the afternoon, we visit the striking Paro Dzong (Rinpung Dzong), a fortress-monastery with commanding views over the Paro Valley. It continues to serve as both a religious centre and local government office.
We’ll also explore the National Museum, housed in a former watchtower known as Ta Dzong. The museum offers fascinating exhibits on Bhutanese history, culture, textiles, and sacred relics—an ideal introduction to the depth of Paro’s heritage.

Today is a highlight of your Bhutan journey: the unforgettable hike to Taktsang Monastery, famously known as the Tiger’s Nest. After breakfast at the hotel, we set out for the trailhead and begin the scenic uphill hike to one of Bhutan’s most iconic landmarks.
Clinging dramatically to a cliffside 900 metres above the Paro Valley, Tiger’s Nest is a sacred site of pilgrimage and awe. According to legend, Guru Rinpoche flew to this spot on the back of a tigress to meditate in the 8th century. The trek to the monastery is both physically rewarding and spiritually enriching, offering forested paths, sweeping views, and moments of quiet reflection.

Terms and Conditions of booking
Please take the time to read and understand the booking terms and conditions prior to booking a trip with us.
Deposits and Payment Schedule
To join any of our captivating Luxury Women’s Tours (LWT) itineraries, a per-person deposit, tailored to your selected trip, is required to confirm and secure your reservation.
The final balance payment must be settled 90 days before your journey begins. If you book within this 90-day window, the full amount becomes due at the time of booking.
In case of cancellation more than 90 days prior to the trip’s start, a full refund is granted, with deductions for non-refundable supplier deposits and non-refundable flight expenses.
For cancellations made between 90 and 60 days before the trip starts, your land component deposits become non-refundable, while all other payments are refunded, with non-refundable supplier or flight charges deducted.
Cancellations occurring 59 days or fewer before the trip starts result in all land tour component payments, including the deposit, being non-refundable.
All flights are subject to airline terms and conditions.
Pricing
Published trip prices include all applicable taxes and are based on shared occupancy. Solo travelers are thoughtfully matched with roommates to avoid additional single supplement fees. Single supplements are available with a surcharge, subject to availability.
Please note that LWT is not responsible for fees related to currency exchange or charges imposed by your credit card company or bank for foreign currency transactions.
All Flight Booking Conditions
Be aware that terms, conditions, and cancellation fees imposed by flight carriers are applicable in accordance with the airline’s policies.
Cancellation by the Client
In case a Client needs to cancel their reservation, we request written notification sent to jamie@luxurywomenstours.com.au.
Upon receiving written confirmation of cancellation from LWT, your reserved spot on the trip will be released, and rebooking availability is not guaranteed.
Refund terms for client-initiated cancellations are as follows:
- Over 90 days before the trip’s start: Full refund, with deductions for non-refundable supplier deposits and non-refundable flight expenses.
- Cancellation between 90 and 60 days before the trip’s start: Land component deposits become non-refundable, with all other payments refunded, minus non-refundable supplier or flight charges.
- Cancellations 59 days or fewer before the trip’s start: All land tour component payments, including the deposit, are non-refundable.
Credits
Credits are valid for use within the original year of the trip or the following calendar year, with a total validity period of 24 months from the date of issuance.
These credits can be transferred to another woman, who assumes responsibility for any outstanding balance payments and directly reimburses you for the deposit. However, the replacement participant must meet trip registration requirements and receive approval from LWT.
You can also apply your credits toward the final balance of another trip, provided the request is made at least 90 days before the trip’s start date. Additionally, you have the flexibility to transfer your credits to any other trip or cancel and reapply your credits as many times as needed before the 90-day mark before the trip date, all within the original credit expiry date. Please note that all credits are issued in Australian Dollars (AUD).
Cancellation of a Tour by Luxury Women’s Tours
Our trips are confirmed to depart with a minimum group size booked. LWT reserves the right to cancel any trip for any reason, though cancellations less than 60 days before departure are rare, except for Force Majeure or unforeseen circumstances beyond LWT’s control.
If LWT cancels a tour before the agreed departure date for reasons other than Force Majeure or the fault of the Client, you have the following options:
- Choose a substitute tour of equivalent or higher price, paying the difference.
- Opt for a substitute tour of lower price, receiving the difference in price as a refund.
- Receive a full refund of all monies paid under the contract.
LWT is not responsible for incidental expenses or consequential losses incurred by the Client, such as visa fees, vaccinations, non-refundable flights or rail tickets, non-refundable parking, loss of earnings, or loss of enjoyment.
