3 nights

Day 1: Arrivals, Tokyo(D)

Welcome to Tokyo, Japan. After arrival you will be greeted by our driver and brought to our luxury hotel in the heart of Tokyo. Join us for light sightseeing or the remainder of the day is yours to explore or rest before an amazing Japanese welcome dinner later.

Day 2: Tokyo: (B,L)

Today we start with an early morning brekkie in our hotel. After breakfast we head out for a full day of touring around Tokyo. Visit Tsukiji outer market to discover traditional Japanese foods and homewares. Shop in Tokyo’s Luxury shopping complex. After lunch with your guide, discover the continually trendy Harajuku and Shibuya as well as the neighbourhoods they are comprised of, stopping at Meiji Shrine to witness the Shinto traditions of the locals. We then move on to the Imperial Palace and then to Asakusa Sensoji Temple & Nakamise District for a tour. Evening and dinner are free for your leisure.

Day 3: Tokyo: (B)

Today is your day at leisure. Please let us know if you would like suggestions, or relax with a spa treatment at the amazing hotel spa.

2 nights

Day 4: Tokyo – Mt Fuji – Hakone: (B,L,D)

Today we depart Tokyo after breakfast and head towards the magnificent Mt Fuji, Our driver will take us up to the 5th station for incredible views of this beautiful mountain, stopping for lunch at an amazing restaurant and then on Lake Kawaguchi where on a clear day you can see a perfect mirror image of Mt Fuji. We head to Itchiku Kubota Art Museum where we can view a magnificent collection of one-of-a-kind kimono designed by an inspired master. Later we check in to our Luxury Ryokan, a traditional Japanese hotel. The evening indulge in a kaiseki dinner and onsen at the Ryokan.

Day 5: Hakone: (B,L,D)

Enjoy breakfast then, explore more of the area with your guide. Embark on a sightseeing boat that looks like a replica of a pirate ship. This cruise across the lake offers visitors a myriad of photo opportunities of the spectacular natural scenery and magnificent views. Then take the the Hakone Ropeway which soars above the landscape. This ropeway passes over Mt. Owakudani, an active volcanic zone where sulphurous fumes escape from steam vents. Owakudani can be translated as ‘Great Boiling Valley,’ and visitors will not be disappointed by this descriptive name and the smell that pervades the area. It is definitely an impressive and memorable experience that visitors will remember. On clear days, Mt. Fuji is visible from the ropeway and from the station area.

Tonight enjoy kaiseki dinner and onsen in the ryokan.

3 nights

Day 6: Hakone – Kyoto (B, L, D):

Today after breakfast we depart the Ryokan and transfer to the Odawara station to board the Shinkansen (bullet train), we will be travelling first class. Once we arrive,We head straight to our hotel for a beautiful lunch and hotel check in.  We will have a couple of hours free before our afternoon tour and dinner.

Spend the Late afternoon visiting Fushimi Inari Shrine, which is famous for the thousands of blazing red torii gates that line the trails winding through the forests. Legend has it that torii are gateways between the earthly and divine realms. Follow the route to the sprawling and scenic grounds of Tofuku-ji Temple before ambling to Kiyomizudera Temple, one of Kyoto’s star attractions and an exquisite example of the skill displayed in traditional Japanese carpentry. After strolling around the historical geisha district of Gion and the modern shopping precinct of Shijo, you will get introduced to Kyoto’s most mysterious treasure by stepping into the world of Japan’s highly-trained entertainers: the geisha (the word for “geisha” in Kyoto is “geiko”) and the maiko (young apprentice geiko). Enjoy an authentic traditional kaiseki dinner hosted by geiko or maiko. You will be introduced to the unique geisha culture of this city, while your hosts refill your glass with some sake. Observe the artists while they perform a traditional dance for you. There will be many opportunities for you to take pictures, and ask questions about things you’re curious to know.

Day 7: Kyoto (B,L):

This morning, you will have the opportunity to wear a kimono*, before learning about the culture and history of tea in a traditional tea room. Your instructor will welcome you with a brief introduction to the history and culture of tea, before performing the tea ceremony itself.

After being served a small traditional sweet, you will have the opportunity to make your own bowl of matcha under the careful guidance of your instructor. Then follow your guide for a visit to Nanzen-ji Temple, famous for its magnificent 350-year-old wooden entrance gate known as the Sanmon, and the remarkably Roman-looking red brick aqueduct within its grounds. From here, descend towards Ginkaku-ji Temple, the Silver Pavilion. In the afternoon, visit Kyoto’s iconic Golden Temple. Tonight enjoy an evening free to yourself. 

Day 8: Kyoto (b,L,D):

The day is free at leisure. You could go visit Arashiyama, a picturesque, mountainous area west of Kyoto, to admire the glorious Bamboo Grove. There are also some stunning and significant temples and shrines to explore in the area, such as Tenryu-ji Temple.
Meet with your guide in central Kyoto this evening for a memorable farewell dinner, followed by the most local experience there is: a night-out at the karaoke!

Day 9: Kyoto- Osaka Airport (B):

After breakfast, free time for leisure before your transfer to the airport and flight home. We hope you have had an amazing Japanese experience with us!
